FCP Objectives

Objectives To provide practical training in church planting :

             A.   Apostolic:
                         1.    Competence: Church Planting
                                 a.   The cognitive study of church planting in networks
                                 b.   The practical, experiential application
                         2.    Content: Foundational Skills
                                 a.   Islamic study, language acquisition, cultural adaptation
                         3.    Tentmaking: Training in businesses as an entry strategy to closed

countries.

B. Relational:
1. Character Development: Transformational Ministry, calling study,

SLS.

2. Community : Team Building; dynamics, conflict resolution,

problem solving, understanding giftedness.

             C.   Mystical: training in spirituals
                         1. How to keep the “wind in your sails” when tough times come.
                         2. How to hear the voice of God.
                         3. How to “stir up” giftedness.
                         4. How to follow the Lord.

2. To equip, facilitate and mentor church planting teams in preparation for pioneer

church planting in the resistant, closed countries.

3. To involve the family of churches in the Rhode Island region in a church planting

team training program. To use this model for other areas in the US and abroad

as they would develop.

4. To facilitate the church planting efforts of the Fellowship of Church Planters and

other agencies.

5. To provide church planting teams with a model for training that can be reproduced

in the mission context.

6. To be a resource for missions agencies to involve constituent churches (“field” or

"home” churches) in church planting or to train their own personnel.

7. To provide a focal point for mission agencies with a growing interest or experience

in church planting context to share resources, knowledge and personnel.
